This vocabulary is the prime format used by eventSherpa, the hot new Windows
calendaring application created by semantic wizards SemaView, to shift event data around
cyberspace. See it in action by subscribing to the
feed of SchemaWeb's own diary of semweb

This classic FOAF extension schema refines the foaf:knows property.
Using this simple ten property schema, we can declare five types of family relationship and five shades of relationship from 'friend' to 'enemy'.
Author Eric Vitiello's own FOAF file demonstrates its use perfectly. So when foaf:knows ain't good enough, reach for the Relationship schema.

Geo is a compact RDF schema used to express global location in terms of
latitude, longitude and altitude. This simple two class, four property schema
can be used to great effect in many types of RDF data from people to pictures.
GPS enabled mobile device applications are a prime use case of Geo data.
Enabling map support in applications is another. The amount and quality of
useful information that can be mined from diverse RDF data sources using
location is almost limitless.

The Web Ontology Language (OWL) will very soon be a W3C Recommendation and looks like becoming the de-facto standard for expressing and sharing RDF schemas.
OWL has more expressive power than RDF Schema (RDFS) and comes in three flavours or species (OWL Lite, OWL DL and OWL Full). Check out the
excellent documentation to learn this essential and important vocabulary.

Ever had the embarassing experience of serving up Roast Beef only to discover that your guest is vegetarian? This could be a thing of the past when people start marking up their FOAF files with the Vegetarian Ontology. Just using <veg:Vegetarian/> instead of <foaf:Person/> will avoid disappointments and ensure a swinging dinner party. And those among us that still think that 'meat is murder but veg is torture' can always use <veg:Omnivore/>.

"Geeks have one. So do hairy gay men and their admirers. Isn't it time bloggers have a code to describe themselves as well?"
Nothing much to add to the description in the official documentation for this saucy little number designed by webspert Mark Pilgrim.

FOAF is the classic webby

buddies in RDF/XML format using the FOAF vocabulary and deploy on your website. You are then instantly part of a virtual network of millions of

amazing FOAF-a-Matic will generate one for you.
